This Week In Review

So, this week was fairly unhealthy in terms of eating but it had way more to do with saving money than it did with eating healthy. I've decided that between the house payment and groceries, I have enough fat to choose house payment. Anyway:

Sunday I made chili which was way yum.

Monday was naughty. I made Dean's favorite breakfast for dinner. Essentially this is friend potatoes with sausage and bacon. What man wouldn't love it? I was overjoyed to find real bacon in the freezer from one of the pork bundles we'd gotten a while back and so I was really able to treat Dean since he's been working so much lately.

Tuesday we had leftover chili and caesar salad. Perhaps it seems an odd combination. I think most people prefer cornbread.

Wednesday we ate out since we went to Linen & Things for their going out of business sale. We went to Red Robin. I am in love with the Banzai burger.

Tonight I pulled some ham out of the freezer (the one that had been hiding the bacon) and made scalloped potatoes and ham with a salad for dinner. Then while I was at it, I made tomorrow's dinner as well...

Which will be ham and mixed vegetable strata.

Weekends are usually unplanned (stupidly).

I'm trying to think of low-cost meals for next week. I've gotten in the habit of going to the grocery store early on Saturday to get the discount meat. haha
So far I'm thinking of homemade chicken pot pie, spaghetti, tuna casserole, chicken fried rice and maybe some meatloaf to make Dean feel like a man again at the end of a week full of chicken and fish.
